Meridith Baer Home Staged the Grammys
Meridith Baer Home staged the artist dressing rooms for music’s biggest night: the Grammy Awards!
In the video above, MBH designer Carolyn Greco gives Grammys correspondent Kéla Walker a tour of the backstage areas we furnished—each room an elegant, inspiring space for artists performing that evening to rehearse and relax.
It was our honor and pleasure to stage dressing rooms for these dignitaries and musicians:
For the former First Lady, we wanted to evoke the elegance of a luxury hotel, but with the warmth of a home. As a gift to her, we custom made a pillow with a hand-painted quote from Harriet Tubman, honoring both Black History month and Mrs. Obama personally.
For the evening’s host, we wanted to create a space that felt both powerful and sexy. For power, we styled the room in black, beige, white, and chrome. For the sexy, we brought in plush faux fur pillows.
We wanted the rapper’s space to blend luxury with a bit of rebelliousness. Two matching tufted sofas flanked a large leather and brass ottoman accessorized with skulls and crossbones.
Though known as a fashion icon, we didn’t want Gaga’s space to feel too avant-garde. Instead, we opted for a soft glamour for the singer/actress. Custom pink pillows made by our upholstery team added pops of delicate color to the room.
We wanted Miley’s room to be funky and hip, while still elegant. So we gave her a sexy curved sofa with pillows striped in rich colors, then set the space off with a glam faux fur rug.
The Motown legend’s voice is airy and ethereal and we wanted her space to reflect that vibe. To accomplish that, her room was done entirely in white with accents of glowing chrome.
This room needed to be simple and beautiful, but with an edge. A green sofa, chrome and wood coffee table, and fake fur throw came together for a luxuriously earthy effect.
We loved staging the Grammys and look forward to furnishing more events throughout this coming year!
