Meridith Baer Home recently staged the Trevor House, an historic 10,000+ square foot mansion for sale in Carnegie Hill, one of New York City’s most elite neighborhoods!
Located on the Upper East Side, the area was named after iconic industrialist Andrew Carnegie, one of the first of The Gilded Age’s millionaires to settle there.
Bordered on its west side by Fifth Avenue, it boasts Central Park as its backyard, as well as many of Manhattan’s most ornate pre-war buildings, prestigious private schools, and exclusive boutiques.
The Trevor House began its life as a nondescript brownstone neighboring Carnegie’s mansion. Bought in 1926 by philanthropist Emily Trevor, it was then transformed by famed architect Mott Schmidt into a luxurious Georgian-style townhouse which hosted many 1930’s New York society gatherings.
The home features four large levels of living space with an elegant marble-floored reception room, lush garden terrace, stately parlor floor landing, full-floor master suite, and more recent sky-lit media room.READ MORE
